The fourth iteration of the series has perhaps the largest list of add-on packs available in any Sims game. For a haunted house build some packs are must-haves – like the Spooky Stuff pack – while others add smaller objects and tools that will make the haunted house come fully to life.
10 Spooky Stuff Pack
The Spooky Stuff Pack is the number 1 pack to get for making the perfect haunted house. It adds spooky costumes, ghastly makeup, trick foods (like the Eyeball Cheese Plate) as well as a ton of Halloween-themed decorations for both indoors and out.
This pack is a smaller one but adds so many haunted objects and items to the game that it’s a must-have to really create a ghoulish vibe in the haunted house.
9 Paranormal Stuff Pack
The Paranormal Stuff Pack is another small pack that adds a lot of options for a haunted house project. This pack gives the player the Medium skill as an option, allowing them to talk to ghosts, and even gives the option of performing a seance. What fun is a haunted house without communicating with the dead?
The pack also adds a few other objects and items that are sure to spice up the level of detail in a haunted house. Objects like the crystal ball make for a nice centerpiece, and having ghosts wander through the haunted house halls makes it feel that much more… alive.
8 Vintage Glamour Stuff Pack
Haunted houses are all about the glamour and regality of a time long past. Dead Victorian children in nightdresses don’t haunt just any old home in the movies – it’s gotta have style. Look no further than the Vintage Glamour Stuff Pack.
While this pack is particularly focused on fashion, it also adds a Butler who can roam the halls of the haunted house, a vanity table, and a variety of customization options perfect for a night of glamour gone wrong… dinner and a murder party, anybody?
7 Realm of Magic Game Pack
The Realm of Magic game pack is perfect for haunted houses for its new effects, mechanics, spells, and objects. This pack adds cauldrons and familiars, to start with, that can turn a basement into a secret summoning lair. It also adds costumes that fit with the spooky vibe as well as a secret area only accessible through a portal.

This pack is good for creating an air of magic around the haunted house. It’s a game pack, meaning it has more content than a stuff pack but less than a full-fledged expansion.
6 Strangerville Game Pack
Strangerville is a unique game pack in that it adds a new story to the game for the player to explore. The town of Strangerville offers a weird narrative, odd collectibles, peculiar townsfolk, and an overall vibe that simply screams “X-Files”.
It’s a game pack full of mystery and new objects that fit perfectly into a haunted house build – in fact, the pack offers over 100 objects, ranging from spooky fences to hazmat suits to otherworldly tendrils.
5 Romantic Garden Stuff Pack
Most of the appeal of a haunted house is in its scares on the inside. What makes a haunted house pop, though, is a well-groomed garden to establish a spooky vibe even before guests make their way through the spooks. Enter, the Romantic Garden Stuff Pack.
The Romantic Garden Stuff Pack adds a huge amount of customization to the greenery surrounding a home. While this might not scare visitors, the addition of fountains, wishing wells, and arches can set the tone for an authentic austere mansion that just so happens to be plagued by ghouls.
4 Discover University Expansion Pack
It’s a bit of a horror movie trope that a group of college students finds themselves in a… spooky… situation. With the Discover University Expansion pack, not only will you be able to dress up visitors to the haunted house in proper college attire, but you can also set up classic moments from horror movies.

It’s a bit out there for a haunted house, as most of the other contents of the full-sized expansion pack are solely focused on school and learning. Nevertheless, no haunted house is complete without a group of unwitting college students unprepared for the scares inside…
3 Jungle Adventure Game Pack
The Jungle Adventure Game Pack is another that adds a whole new area for the player to explore. Progressing through the adventure story that comes with the pack rewards the player with a variety of artifacts that look perfect in a trophy room or as centerpieces throughout the haunted house.
It also adds a variety of costumes and appearances to the game that can add some character to the characters in the haunted house. Was the owner a grand expedition-goer, or perhaps a big game hunter? This pack can help tell a story steeped in exploration.
2 Vampires Game Pack
The Vampires Game Pack is a no-brainer addition for the haunted house builder who wants to delve a little more into the macabre. From the initial character screen to the new area of Forgotten Hollow, spookiness and Halloween vibes infect every inch of this game pack.
This pack boasts a huge number of gothic and scary-looking objects to add to the home, including coffins, red-black furniture, and even crypt decorations.
1 Luxury Party Stuff Pack
The Luxury Party Stuff Pack, like the Vintage Glamour Pack, is a pack that can add an authentic feel of luxury to the haunted house. The focus of this pack is on new customization options for characters, such as new hairstyles and accessories, but it also offers decadent objects any rich home would display.
One such example is the food and drink fountain, which can be filled with food, chocolate, and other drinks. The pack really shines, though, for its new costumes that will make characters feel right at home in a haunted mansion.
