On Twitter, well-known horror game leaker AestheticGamer revealed that Sony’s plans for the PS5 reveal event are changing “constantly” and that the company is “being really back & forth and keep making changes behind the scenes.” While AestheticGamer does think that a Silent Hill announcement will be part of a PS5 event, “it’s hard to say exactly when whatever will happen.”

The leaker also said that there is the possibility that Sony will hold several PS5 events over the next few months and that that Silent Hill reboot could be part of any one of them. Sony’s decision to hold multiple PS5 events “isn’t final,” said AestheticGamer, but as console rival Xbox will also be holding several Xbox Series X events this summer this does make it much more likely.

The leaker knows that this may just be seen as them trying to “hold off the pitchforks” if the Silent Hill reboot isn’t announced at the June 3 PS5 event. However, the report that suggested that the PS5 event is happening on June 3 also said that Sony could change the date again. This wouldn’t be the first time that Sony has changed its plans for the console as it had planned to do the PS5 specs reveal at GDC. GDC was canceled and so Sony chose to stream its presentation online, leaving some fans disappointed as they’d expected a more exciting reveal and not a talk about SSD speeds.

It’s unclear when the Silent Hill reboot will be revealed but if the game is in development, then there are some leaked details that fans can enjoy. AestheticGamer has also said that the Silent Hill reboot is being worked on by Silent Hill 2 composer Akira Yamaoka and that Gravity Rush developer SIE Japan Studio is developing the game.

While fans wait for news about the popular horror series, there have been other announcements about it. Multiplayer game Dead by Daylight is adding Silent Hill content and while that may not be the new game that fans are asking for, there’s a lot there for them to enjoy.

Silent Hill is rumored to be in development for PS5.
