Toyama revealed as much in an interview with AI Hub, though stopped short of explaining who exactly this “famous creator” is. One possibility that springs to mind is horror manga artist and writer Junji Ito. Ito has previously been attached to Hideo Kojima’s Silent Hills, and so he has a history with the video game industry, even though that particular game never finished development. Perhaps the Bokeh Game Studio horror project could see some of Ito’s ideas for Silent Hills finally come to life.

Another possibility is Akira Yamaoka, a composer who has worked on numerous Silent Hill games, including the 1999 original. Most recently, Yamaoka worked on the Silent Hill-inspired game The Medium, and he has teased his involvement in another upcoming horror project. There have been rumors that Yamaoka is working on the long-rumored Silent Hill reboot project, though nothing to that extent has been confirmed at the time of this writing.

A long-shot possibility would be Hideo Kojima, who has suggested that he is actively working on a new horror game project. Kojima has shown his interest in developing a horror video game for the last decade, with the P.T. demo leaving a lasting impact on the genre. Kojima’s Silent Hills project was canceled by Konami before it could finish development, but Kojima has reportedly started work on a new horror game. It’s possible that it is being made in collaboration with Bokeh Game Studio, though that seems highly unlikely.

The Bokeh Game Studio horror game isn’t expected to launch until 2023 at the earliest, so it may be years before fans find out who Toyama is referring to. In the years ahead, fans should be treated to more details about the project in general, but as it stands all that’s known is that it’s a horror game, the concept art is reminiscent of Silent Hill, and it will most likely be set in an Asian city of some description.

With Bokeh Game Studio being a brand new studio and its game not launching until 2023, it’s hard to say when exactly fans will learn more. For now, the speculation can continue as to what the game will entail and who the mysterious famous Japanese creator is.
