Signalis: How to Pick Locks
Upon initiating a lock pick, players will be given control of a device that is made up of numerous parts. The top of this device serves as key, and fans of survival horror video games can adjust the lengths of its teeth by pressing the up-and-down switches that are just below it. Underneath those switches, players will see a screen that displays the pins that are inside the lock, and pushing the key into the lock will cause those pins to move downward.

With this foundation laid, fans of indie horror games should now look closely at the lock that they are attempting to pick. During this observation, players will notice that each of the lock’s pins has a line that divides it into two sections. Fans will also notice that there is a line on the lock that is situated slightly below the lines on the pins, and all of these lines have been highlighted on the following image:
It is now a players task to align these lines in order to form one unbroken line within the lock. This is done by adjusting the teeth of the key so that it pushes each pin into the exact right position, and these two instructions will help fans of sci-fi horror do exactly that:
If the line on a pin is above the line on the lock when the key is inserted, lengthen the tooth that contacts it by pressing down on the tooth’s switch. If the line on a pin is below the line on the lock when the key is inserted, shorten the tooth that contacts it by pressing up on the tooth’s switch.
After using these instructions to adjust every tooth and properly align every pin, players will see their key turn within the lock. This indicates that the lock picking has been successful, and fans of dark video games will then be able to advance through the previously-unmovable barrier and continue to explore the unsettling world of Signalis.
Signalis is available for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
